This beautiful 17th century residence is located in the heart of the Gamla Stan. The owners have a real passion for nautical history and there is a terrific collection on display including ships’ figureheads, historical paintings and even an original letter written by Lord Nelson to Lady Hamilton. Parts of Stockholm’s 14th century city wall are on display in the excellent restaurant, ‘Leijontornet’, which serves a seasonal menu (open Tuesday to Saturday and closed during July and August). There is also ‘Flickan x La Ragazza’ for innovative Southern European cuisine and Vingården, which opens in the courtyard from May to August. There are only 48 bedrooms, and each one has a portrait of a naval captain, one of his wife and a painting of his ship.
