Built on Gozo’s highest point, the Ta’ Cenc has magnificent views across to the islands of Malta and Comino. It has a peaceful setting in 160 hectares of gardens and countryside. All 83 rooms, suites, bungalows, trullos and family apartments are pleasantly furnished and have a terrace or a small private garden.
For lunch and dinner, the ‘Il Carrubo’ restaurant offers Italian cuisine, along with Gozitan and international dishes. A scenic terraced snack bar has superb views of the archipelago, and in the evenings pianists and guitarists play live music. There are two outdoor swimming pools, one of which is for children and an excellent spa with a heated pool. The ‘beach club’ is located in the fjord inlet of Mgarr ix-Xini, and has a bar and grill restaurant. Access to the sea is from the rocks. A minibus service, which takes you directly to the beach in five minutes, is free of charge. Closed 4 January – 8 February.
