This landmark building originally opened its doors in 1873 as The Midland Grand. Designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, and taking inspiration from the Palace of Westminster, it was to be a spectacular monument to Midland Railways. After years of meticulous renovation the hotel is open once more, consisting of the original Chambers building and the new Barlow House wing. Rooms in the Chambers building have high ceilings and ornate mouldings. Rooms in the Barlow House are more contemporary in style. The Chambers building also houses ‘Booking Office 1869’ bar and restaurant and the spa, with a small pool. With direct access to St. Pancras International, this restored masterpiece makes for an ideal stop before your next Eurostar journey.
