Short Break
Behind the Art Deco façade, the Saratoga is a stylish contemporary hotel that first opened in the1930s but was relaunched in 2005 to great acclaim following an extensive rebuilding programme and it has quickly established itself as Havana’s finest hotel. It commands an excellent position overlooking the elegant dome of the Capitolio Parliament building, on the edge of Havana’s old town, with spectacular views from its rooftop terrace with its Mediterranean restaurant, bar and swimming pool – surely there is no better place to enjoy your chilled mojito cocktail whilst admiring the city’s unique skyline? The 96 bedrooms, all junior suites, have excellent bathrooms with separate shower and bath tubs designed by London based designer Justin Meath-Baker; satellite TV, internet, minibar and hairdryers – we recommend a junior suite overlooking the Paseo del Prado (supplement on request).Other facilities include a restaurant and two bars on the lower floors, a gym and spa. Full hot breakfast daily. The Saratoga is now in the Condé Nast Traveller ‘Gold List’ and is highly recommended.
