Short Break
Less than five minutes’ walk from St John’s Co-Cathedral and the Grand Master’s Palace, the Rosselli has an enviable location in the historic heart of Valletta. The hotel is housed within an elegant 17th century palazzo, once the residence of goldsmith Pietro Rosselli, and includes a 400-year-old fountain in the internal courtyard. In contrast to the historic architecture, much of the interior is contemporary; polished marble and terrazzo flooring is softened by luxuriously upholstered furnishings, creating a smart and stylish atmosphere throughout the 25 rooms and suites. There is a roof terrace with views over Valletta and a small plunge pool. The Grain Street restaurant, where breakfast is served, offers casual dining at lunch and dinner with a Mediterranean-inspired menu of sharing plates (closed Tuesday and Wednesday, while the vaulted cellar is home to ‘Under Grain’, awarded a Michelin star in its first year for veteran chef Victor Borg whose “expertly cooked Mediterranean dishes burst with bold, gloriously harmonious flavours” (closed Sunday and Monday).
