After a four-year renovation, the Párisi Udvar opened in June 2019, revealing an astonishing building built in 1817 as Budapest’s first shopping arcade – inspired by the famous Passage des Panoramas in Paris.
It is one of Budapest’s most stylish hotels with a fusion of Arabic, Moorish and Gothic styles including ornately decorated Majolica tiles, Murano glass mosaics and a Luxfer Prism crystal cupola. These elements have been sensitively restored in the arcade, which forms the heart of the hotel, here you will find the Párisi Passage Restaurant, the Étoile Champagne Bar and a café which harks back to the coffee houses of the past century. The 110 rooms and suites are modern, light and spacious with elements of Art Nouveau and Moorish design, while the Zafir Spa features an infrared room, steam room, sauna and offers a selection of beauty treatments. Located in Pest, it is well placed for exploring the city; the Great Market Hall and the Hungarian National Museum are both 10 minutes’ walk away, and a wide range of shops, restaurants and cafés are close by.
