A historic monument and former hospital dating from the 15th century, the Grand Hôtel Dieu has been transformed into Lyon’s newest residence in the heart of the Presqu’île, comprising the hotel as well as an upmarket food hall, boutiques, restaurants and La Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie.
Decorated in contemporary style, with historic features which reflect the building and the city’s history, the hotel offers 144 spacious rooms with views over the cloistered courtyards, gardens or towards the River Rhône. The ‘Epona’ restaurant, with its summer courtyard terrace, offers classic Lyonnaise dishes with a modern twist; while for many, the highlight will be a cocktail or afternoon tea in the lively ‘Le Dôme’ bar, situated beneath the majestic 72 metre high Soufflet Dome. The concierge can recommend walking and jogging routes along Lyon’s rivers and through the city while access is included to the fitness centre at the nearby Spa Cinq Mondes.
