At the centre of the mediaeval fortified town of Sighisoara, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Sighisoara hotel hosts the annual Mediaeval Festival in July and regularly welcomes international guests in search of the nearby birthplace of the legendary Vlad the Impaler. The hotel once belonged to Saxon Bishop George Paul Binder, a Sighisoara native, who lived in the property during his time teaching at the School on the Hill, or the Cetatea (Citadel), in the 18th Century. The boutique residence offers 29 simple rooms and 3 suites, which combine traditional Romanian hospitality with modern comfort.
