Short Break
This historic hotel dates back to 1876 when the oldest families of the village decided to work together and build a hotel to make the most of the burgeoning tourist trade. The result is a grand hotel on a more intimate scale and in the traditional Alpine style with a commanding position in the centre of Zermatt. There are 69 individually furnished bedrooms, classically decorated and updated with modern luxuries; views are either of the mountains, village or iconic Matterhorn. There are three restaurants to choose from ranging from gourmet dining to a more relaxed brasserie and the very popular ‘saycheese!’ fondue restaurant. The spa includes an indoor swimming pool, steam bath, sauna, jacuzzi, ice grotto and gym. On arrival in Zermatt their horse-drawn carriage or electric bus transfers you to the hotel.
