Car Ferry
Short Break
The 18th century Château La Chenevière had a major role to play as a forward command post for the German and subsequently British armies in World War II due to its location on the main road from Bayeux to Arromanches.
A hotel since 1988, there are now 29 rooms, ranging from more traditional rooms in the main manor house, to a more contemporary style in the old forge and the wartime command centre itself. Guests can relax by the heated outdoor swimming pool in the gardens, or the various comfortable lounges with antique marble fireplaces. Gastronomic restaurant ‘Le Botaniste’ open for dinner and the informal ‘Le Petit Jardin’ open for lunch and dinner cuisine is enjoyed in the airy dining room. There is a tennis court and bicycles are available for guests.
