Short Break
Located in the small village of Kalopanayiotis in the Troodos mountains, Casale Panayiotis offers an authentic slice of Cypriot life. The village was in decline until owner John Papadouris made the commitment to revive the local culture and restore a collection of stone cottages to create a luxurious retreat. The community was inspired to restore their own homes, open small businesses and bring their village back to life. 41 guest rooms are now spread over seven cottages in the village; all are spacious and pair modern, neutral décor with original features such as exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings – each is unique, most have fireplaces, and some include a terrace or balcony with stunning mountain views. ‘Byzantino’ restaurant and café serves traditional, homemade Cypriot dishes using local produce as well as light meals, teas and coffee. Casual dining with glorious mountain views is available for lunch and dinner at Pantheon while the grill restaurant ‘Loutraki’ is more modern in style. Myrianthousa spa includes a hydrotherapy pool, private whirlpool, sauna, steam room, snow cabin and a range of treatments. The UNESCO listed St John Lampadistis Monastery is 5 minutes' walk away and a further six UNESCO sites are a short drive away - car hire is recommended, and the hotel makes for a fascinating contrast with the coast as part of a tailor-made holiday. Paphos and Larnaca airports are both approximately 1 hour 45 minutes’ drive away.
