Short Break
Dating from 1917, the Apotek was originally the city’s main pharmacy, designed by Guðjón Samúelsson, architect of the iconic Hallgrimskirkja and is sister hotel to the Borg. It has recently been converted into a modern boutique hotel with just 45 simply furnished rooms, including the unusual Tower Suite, which is set over three levels. There is a stylish cocktail bar and an informal restaurant which offers both European and Icelandic dishes.
