Performances of the world’s favourite operas have been given in the magnificent Roman arena on Verona’s elegant Piazza Bra for more than 100 years. 'Aida' was first performed here in 1913 to mark the centenary of Verdi’s birth and has been performed almost every year ever since.
For 2025 the Arena will present a full season of brand-new opera productions, with a stellar cast. There really is something very special about entering the vast Arena on a balmy summer evening, opera buffs and novices alike swept away by the magnificence of a performance on such a scale.
This new tour, based at Verona’s best hotel, the 5* Due Torri, will include two performances: 'Aida', the classic Verona opera, and 'Rigoletto', set in the court of the Duke of Mantua - and there will be a further optional performance of 'Nabucco'.
