Founded by Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears in 1948, the Aldeburgh Festival presents world-class musicians in The Maltings concert hall, a spectacularly located venue overlooking the reed beds of this stretch of the Suffolk coast. This summer we shall attend six performances including the Royal College of Music Symphony Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Antonio Pappano, and a special concert dedicated to the life and legacy of soprano Jennifer Vyvyan, introduced by Michael White. We are based in the centre of Aldeburgh right by the sea evoking memories of Britten’s masterpiece, Peter Grimes.
