Menorca

City

Overview

Mallorca’s smaller sister, Menorca is a charmingly tranquil island with its own ancient culture, endemic flora and distinct cuisine, as well as dozens of beautiful sandy coves, untouched by mass tourism. The main town of Mahón has long been prized for its extraordinary natural harbour (it housed a Royal Navy base from 1715 until it was ceded to Spain in 1802), and today provides a charming setting for delicious al fresco dining overlooking the marina. The island is the perfect destination for a relaxing holiday in spring and autumn when the weather remains glorious and there is a growing selection of comfortable boutique hotels.
