The Hague offers fine Baroque and Art Nouveau architecture, stylish cafés and antique shops and some of the country’s best museums including the famous Mauritshuis, home to Vermeer's 'Girl With a Pearl Earring' and 'View of Delft'. The Hague lies 40 kilometres southwest of Amsterdam. Delft and Leiden can be reached in 10 minutes by train.
