Just 45 minutes’ from Brussels, Ghent is a city whose mercantile past can be enjoyed in the majestic townhouses which line the cobbled streets. St.Bavo’s Cathedral houses the jewel in the crown of its artistic treasures – The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb by the Van Eyck brothers. We can also recommend the Museum of Fine Arts, the City Museum which tells the story of Ghent’s fight against Hapsburg repression.

The privately owned Harmony is an intimate and luxurious hotel located on a quiet canal in the oldest neighbourhood in Ghent. It is close to a tram stop, 10 minutes’ walk from the cathedral, and offers warm hospitality and personal service.
Opened in 2017 this small boutique hotel is located on the upper floors of the city’s old post office, right in the heart of Ghent. Built between 1898 and 1910 the building is a beautiful mix of neo-Gothic and neo-Renaissance architecture.
Our tour to these three great Flemish art cities was inspired by the long awaited reopening of Antwerp’s Royal Museum of Fine Arts (KMSKA) in September 2022, and while this wonderful museum may be the highlight of the tour for many, the mediaeval charm of Bruges and Van Eyck’s masterpiece ‘The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb’ in Ghent are not to be overlooked.
