Kirker Holidays had the pleasure of supporting the British Antique Dealers' Association for their wonderful lecture From Downton to Gatsby, presented by Andrew Prince at the Mayfair Townhouse.
This was our first event following our new partnership with BADA, an organisation which shares Kirker's high standards and appeal to curious and discerning audiences.
Andrew revealed the stories behind these exquisite pieces, each of which was created by him for the Downton Abbey TV series, and worn by cast members including the late Maggie Smith. He explained the obsession with detail which goes into the production, when you can - and more importantly - when you can't, wear a tiara, and the fascinating cultural history of fashion, design and fine jewellery during this period of immense societal change. Some of us also took the opportunity to try on a tiara ourselves...
