After studying at the University of Wageningen, near the Dutch city of Arnhem, Ger began his career as a consultant, before working as a guide and tour leader both in his native Netherlands and abroad.

Over the last two decades he has led a range of cultural tours to Italy, Germany and the archaeological sites of Ancient Greece Ð and he has a long-standing passion for opera which means he particularly enjoys leading music holidays.
